COACHING ROLES

Assistant Coaches (All Age Groups)
Essential Qualifications

UEFA ‘C’ License minimum 
FAW First Aid Award
Enhanced DBS
FAW Safeguarding Course
Registered with FAW
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Attend all training sessions and matches throughout the week
Support the Head Coach during training and matches.

Deliver sessions when required under supervision.
Assist with player monitoring and feedback.
Ensure safe and inclusive learning environments.

Head Coaches (U8–U11)
Essential Qualifications

UEFA ‘C’ License minimum (Working Towards B Licence)
FAW First Aid Award
Enhanced DBS
FAW Safeguarding Course
Registered with FAW
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Attend all training sessions and matches throughout the week
Deliver age-appropriate coaching sessions.

Support long-term development in line with the Academy philosophy.
Manage matchday coaching and squad rotation.
Monitor and evaluate player progress.

Head Coaches (U12–U19)
Essential Qualifications
 
UEFA ‘B’ License minimum 
FAW First Aid Award
FAW-approved Enhanced DBS
FAW Safeguarding Course
Registered with FAW​
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Attend all training sessions and matches throughout the week
Lead all technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development for the assigned age group.

Plan and deliver training aligned with the Academy curriculum.
Manage matchday coaching and player development reviews.
Maintain player development plans.

NON COACHING ROLES

Match day Medical Lead

Essential Qualifications

Level 4: Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football 

Enhanced DBS

FAW Safeguarding Course

Key Responsibilities

Deliver matchday medical coverage for all home games.

Oversee emergency action plans and medical provision on match day.

Physiotherapist / Sport Therapist 

Essential Qualifications

Level 4: Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football 

Enhanced DBS

FAW Safeguarding Course

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a weekly injury assessment clinic for academy players

Provide a rehabilitation plan for the player as required

Update heads of Phase with progress of player and thire readness to return to play 

Performance Analysts

Essential Qualifications

UEFA  ‘C’ Licence –
Enhanced DBS
FAW Safeguarding Course

Key Responsibilities

Provide match analysis, coding, and statistical feedback. Support player development plans with video and data resources.
