Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC are pleased to announce that we are one of eight organisations across Wales that deliver the Girls Development Centre's on behalf of the FAW for the 2022/23 season onwards. These development centres provide a pathway to the FAW squads for the female game.

FAQ
Where does this sit in relation to FAW pathway?
BFL Development Centre is run in partnership with the FAW and is one of the 8 Girls Development Centres across Wales which act as a key talent ID tool for the FAW Girls Academy, which feed into the national youth teams.
How dose the One club Rule effect the development centre?
Unlike the One Club rule with the academy player and grassroots clubs players can stay with their current grassroots club whilst they attend the Development Center. It is encouraged that ALL player attend grassroots clubs and attend the centre.
Where and when will training be held?
Training will table place at Llandarcy Academy of Sport on the 3G for Under 10-14 on a Wednesday evening and the under 16's in the indoor barn on a Friday night. These training sessions will follow the Briton Ferry Llansawel Academy curriculum for a 30 week program.
What games will the development centre play?
BFL will work closely with the FAW and the other Development Centres across Wales to create a comprehensive games program throughout the season. These game may include games agains Grassroots boys/mixed Teams, FAW Academy sides, Other Girls Development Centres and tournaments.
Will Briton Ferry Llansawel run a grassroots team any more?
Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC will not have any junior girls’ grassroot teams moving forward and will only maintain their Women U19 and Women Senior Squad.
