Briton Ferry Llansawel Under 13s produced a superb attacking display to secure a 6–3 away victory against Swansea City at Landore.
The Reds were relentless in the first half, combining sharp movement, precise passing, and clinical finishing to build a commanding lead.
Swansea responded with determination in the second period, but Briton Ferry’s quality in key moments proved decisive in an action-packed and entertaining contest.
It was a thrilling match that reflected the attacking intent and technical quality of both academies.
Briton Ferry’s first-half dominance, combined with their resilience in the second, ensured they came away with all three points in a performance full of confidence and teamwork.
Briton Ferry started on the front foot, immediately pressing Swansea high and dominating early possession. The breakthrough arrived in just the third minute, when captain Franci-Lee Griffiths capitalised on an early defensive error to slot home calmly and give the visitors an ideal start.

The Reds continued to dictate the tempo through the midfield pairing of Taylor Watson and Loti Adams, who linked up effectively to progress play through the thirds. Their pressure told again in the 25th minute, as Adams doubled the advantage with a composed low finish following good build-up play down the right.
Confidence was flowing, and within minutes Briton Ferry extended their lead further. Taylor Watson took charge of proceedings with two goals in quick succession, her first arriving on 30 minutes with a tidy finish after a flowing team move
She then bagged her second just a minute later, when she reacted quickest to a loose ball to make it 4–0.
Defensively, Briton Ferry were well-organised, with Millie Williams and Cerys Jones keeping Swansea’s forwards quiet and goalkeeper Darcy Rees confidently handling anything that came her way. The Reds’ intensity and focus saw them head into the break with a deserved 4–0 lead.

Briton Ferry began the second period as they ended the first, on the front foot looking to extend their lead further.
Within seven minutes of the restart, Griffiths grabbed her second goal of the match. Griffiths finishing neatly after another incisive team move to make it 5–0 and first time rocket strike from outside the box.
Swansea showed real character in response, refusing to fold. Sofia Davey pulled one back in the 44th minute, finishing well from close range. Ava Carman added a second just six minutes later to bring the score to 5–2, momentarily swinging momentum in the hosts’ favour.

However, Briton Ferry hit back immediately through a well-worked corner routine, in the 51st minute. The corner was delivered into the box by Ava Salter, Swansea managed to partially clear, but Elizabeth Fouracre recycled possession, playing the ball back out to Salter who showed composure and quick feet.
Salter turned to beat her marker and delivered a low cross into the area, where Phoebe Donne struck the ball first time confidently past the keeper with a instinctive finish that restored Briton Ferry’s four-goal cushion and underlined her impact on debut.
Swansea continued to press late on and were rewarded when Neve Mould added a third for the hosts in the 70th minute, rounding off the scoring in a pulsating nine-goal encounter.
