Reds hit Penybont for eight
Briton Ferry Llansawel scored eight times in an empathic win over Penybont at LLandarcy on Friday night. Lucy Jones scored a hat trick in the win which also saw two goals from Gwen Phillips while Chloe Rudge, Harley Hodge and Freya Peyton all get on the scoresheet.
The Reds made a good start and Lucy Jones got the first goal after just five minutes. Jones completed her hat trick within 20 minutes with two more goals by the 19 minute mark. Chloe Rudge and Harley Hodge made it 5-0 at half time.

Gwen Phillips added Ferry’s sixth in the 66th minute before Freya Peyton hit goal number seven after 73 minutes. Phillips then added an eighth, her second in the 77th minute.
The win see’s the Reds move to second in the table with nine points four behind leaders Pontypridd United.
The Reds began the game on the front foot and Chloe Rudge had an early shot flash across the goal.
Lucy Jones found the net shortly after when Penybont failed to clear their lines. Harley Hodge winning the ball from Bont’s clearance allowing Jones to strike the ball under the keeper.
Jones then was quickest to a high ball over the defence and chipped the ball perfectly over the keeper from the corner of the box.
Jones’ hat trick was soon complete when she broke down the left and swung the ball into the goal from out wide. Despite the efforts of a Penybont defender on the line Jones was not to be denied her hat trick.
Ferry’s fourth came when the Bont keeper sent the ball to halfway where Hodge headed back towards the Penybont box. A poor defensive header from Penybont sent the ball into the path of Chloe Rudge who with a deft touch sent the ball past the keeper.
Hodge then added her name to scoresheet. Hodge picked the ball up in the middle of the Penybont half and sent the ball up and over the keeper from 30 yards.

The Reds continued the pushing forward in the second half and saw more chances come. Gwen Phillips showing good footwork on the edge of the box to create a shot that the keeper saved.
Chloe Rudge then hit the bar with her long range effort that had the keeper beaten.
On 66 minutes the Reds scored their sixth. Freya Peyton linking up with Gwen Phillips out on the left. Phillips chipping the keeper from a tight angle.
Freya Peyton then added number seven with 73 minutes played. Peyton bringing the ball down in the box and hitting a low shot on the turn past the keeper.
Ferry scored an eighth goal shortly after as Phillips turned in from Peyton’s corner. Peyton send the corner into the box and finding Phillips wo’s deft flick flew into the corner of the goal.
