Match Report Under 19’s: Llanelli Town 0-6 Briton Ferry Llansawel

Briton Ferry Llansawel bounced back from a defeat with a big win over Llanelli in the Genero Adran South Under 19’s.
Chloe Rudge put in a Player of the Match performance scoring three goals and assisting another. Lucy Jones scored twice and Harley Hodge scored after coming off the bench.
The Reds are third in the table after this win on 18 points, one behind second place Cardiff City and seven behind leaders Pontypridd United.
Ferry attacked from the start and looked to pile pressure on the Llanelli defence. Their first effort from outside the box going straight at the keeper.
The Reds early pressure and quick start paid off as they took the lead just four minutes in. Chloe Rudge with a perfectly weighted pass into the run of Lucy Jones. With just the keeper to beat jones powered a shot past her at her near post.
Freya Peyton then went close to making it two when she cut in from the left and shot at goal. Llanelli keeper Lilly Charlesworth diving to her left to turn the ball away.
Briton Ferry’s second goal came after 10 minutes as Peyton played a pin-point pass into the box which was hit first time by Rudge doubling the Reds lead.

Ferry’s third soon came after a Llanelli defender misjudged a the drop of the ball allowing Rudge to gain possession. Rudge sent the ball to the right to Gwen Strang who then played it back across goal for Rudge to finish.
A fourth goal came before half time this time from a Reds corner. With the ball into the box bouncing around Lucy jones took control and smashed the ball into the far corner.

Ferry continued to push forward in the second half and had an early shot at goal. Chloe Rudge tiring from outside the box but lifting her effort over the bar.
Llanelli then had an effort at goal but their long range effort went high over Georgia Cobley’s goal.
The host’s were enjoying a good spell and had another effort at goal. A shot from the right of the box going well of the far post.
The Reds then regained control and saw several efforts at goal miss the target. This was followed by Lucy Jones seeing two efforts from a tight angle saved by the keeper.
The pressure told again as Ferry added a fifth. Tegan Owen playing the ball in from the left right into the centre of the box. Harley Hodge was on to it and she fired a shot into the roof of the net.
The Reds rounded off a great performance with a sixth goal. Matilda Matthews breaking down the left and putting the ball across goal. Chloe Rudge put the icing on a fine performance sweeping the ball past the keeper with a first time hit.
